Former Jewelry member Yewon addressed the controversy involving actress Lee Tae Im, providing insights into the incident nearly ten years later.
On October 22, Yewon appeared on the YouTube channel Shindong’s DongDong Pocha in an episode titled 'YEWON hits 10M views… and dives into shamanism?!'
During the interview, Yewon shared that she once visited a fortune-teller who told her she was destined to achieve great fame and success but live a short life. According to Yewon, the fortune-teller explained that the incident with Lee Tae Im had occurred to alter that fate.
The incident in question took place in 2015 during the filming of MBC’s 'My Tutor Friend,' when Yewon and Lee Tae Im engaged in a verbal confrontation that included the use of profanity. The dispute resulted in public backlash and a temporary pause in Yewon’s entertainment activities.
Elaborating further, Yewon stated that her ancestors had intervened to prevent her from achieving excessive fame too quickly, which could have shortened her life. The discussion elicited a lighthearted response from Shindong, who commented on the involvement of spiritual forces, prompting Yewon to smile.
Yewon debuted in 2011 as a member of the girl group Jewelry and has continued her career as an actress following the group’s disbandment.
