In an interview published on October 5, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. KST, Jang Haneum said he remains open to joining a post-show derivative team, while keeping solo activities as his top priority. “If there’s a good opportunity, there’s no reason not to do it. For me, solo activities are the first priority, but if there’s a good opportunity and we can create good synergy, I want to do group activities. I think the members are important; if it’s with people who respect one another and are on the same wavelength with me, I want to create good synergy together.”
The singer earned wide recognition after finishing 18th on 'Boys II Planet', drawing attention throughout the series for strong vocals and standout visuals. Even before the program aired, Jang Haneum was cited by many viewers as a leading main-vocal candidate for the final lineup, and online communities reacted with disappointment when his elimination was confirmed.
Reflecting on the result, Jang Haneum said he wished he could have advanced a little further for fans’ sake but took pride in competing to the end. The experience, he added, clarified both his musical direction as a soloist and the conditions under which he would consider team activities—namely, clear purpose and member chemistry aligned with his own values.

Years of trainee life preceded his turn to solo work, but the desire to perform in a group never fully faded. Entering 'Boys II Planet' tested that desire at scale: the production’s larger stages and the challenge of singing while dancing pushed him to confront weaker points head-on. He estimated logging roughly 100 hours on group choreography and said the process reshaped his mindset from individual focus to team awareness.
That shift, Jang Haneum explained, came from preparing stages with fellow contestants who supported one another despite the survival-show format. He pointed to Jeong Sangyeon, Kang Woojin, Choi Ripwoo, Masato, and Sen as close collaborators during long practice days, and he praised Jeon Ijeong for mapping detailed blocking and checking members’ individual gestures during one mission—effort that left a lasting impression of what considerate teamwork looks like.
For now, Jang Haneum continues to prioritize solo plans. But if a derivative group forms with members who share mutual respect and artistic alignment, he says he is ready to step in—on the condition that the opportunity and synergy are genuinely right.
