The agency of South Korean R&B group Brown Eyed Soul has issued an official statement regarding former member Sung Hoon’s recent social media posts.
On October 7, 2025 (KST), Long Play Music posted a lengthy statement on its official channels, clarifying that many parts of Sung Hoon’s claims were inaccurate.
The agency noted that during periods of inactivity due to COVID-19 and other health-related breaks, Sung Hoon experienced psychological challenges and underwent professional counseling and treatment. “During this time, he reportedly sent inappropriate, personal messages to other members and their families,” the statement said.
The company expressed concern and repeatedly encouraged rest and therapy.
Despite this, the agency continued to support Sung Hoon’s solo activities, including album production and YouTube content creation, in an effort to help him recover and continue his music career. However, as the situation did not improve, the company decided to terminate his contract after mutual discussion, resulting in his departure from the group.
The statement also addressed the decision to make this public: “Although we originally chose not to respond to the media, the spread of inaccurate information and misunderstandings has made it necessary to clarify our position.” The agency emphasized that while they sincerely wish for Sung Hoon’s well-being, they may take legal action if false claims continue to harm the reputation of the company and its artists.
Earlier the same day, Sung Hoon posted a lengthy statement explaining that his departure from Brown Eyed Soul was not his own decision, sparking the controversy.
