TVING has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming original drama Dear X (directed by Lee Eung Bok and Park So Hyun, written by Choi Ja Won and Ban Ji Woon), stirring anticipation with a chilling glimpse of Kim Yoo Jung’s dual-faced character, Baek Ah Jin.
Dear X tells the story of Baek Ah Jin, a woman who hides behind a mask in her ruthless climb from “hell” to the very top, and the “X” figures left broken in her wake. The drama follows the downfall of South Korea’s top actress, who conceals cruelty beneath her flawless image, and the tragic love of Yoon Jun Seo (played by Kim Young Dae), a man who chooses his own “hell” in order to protect her. Marketed as a “ruinous melodrama suspense,” the series is already drawing significant attention.
The teaser captures the harrowing contrasts of Baek Ah Jin’s life, swinging between glamour and despair. Under blinding flashes on the red carpet, she commands the spotlight in an elegant gown, exuding confidence and allure. “I want to be reborn at the very top,” she declares, embodying her masked pursuit of success. Yet, as her hidden past and true nature begin to surface, tension escalates.
The trailer also flashes back to Baek Ah Jin’s school days, where her youthful face and seemingly innocent smile are betrayed by hollow, weary eyes. Whispers and rumors swirl: “She pretends to be a model student, but behind the scenes, she extorts money from classmates…” “Her pitiful act is all fake…” and “She’s a devil in human disguise.” These chilling testimonies amplify curiosity about her true identity.
'Dear X' premieres exclusively on TVING on November 6.
