
Actor Song Kang (31) is set to be discharged from the military.
On October 1 KST, Song will complete his 18-month service and officially leave his unit.
He enlisted as an active-duty soldier in April last year. During his service, he appeared in a promotional video for the Defense Help Call, a counseling service run by the Ministry of National Defense, showing a dignified side of himself. He also made headlines when photos surfaced of him with BTS member V.
Song Kang debuted in 2017 with the tvN drama ‘The Liar and His Lover’, later appearing in series such as ‘Man in the Kitchen’ and ‘When the Devil Calls Your Name.’ He rose to leading-man status through ‘Love Alarm’ and went on to gain global popularity with ‘Sweet Home,’ ‘Nevertheless,’ ‘Forecasting Love and Weather,’ and ‘My Demon.’
Even during his enlistment, he caught audiences’ attention with a special appearance in ‘Sweet Home 3’ and the film ‘Escape.’
Ahead of his discharge, Song Kang has already received multiple offers and has been preparing for his comeback. One of the projects currently under review is the drama ‘Four Hands,’ set in an arts high school and depicting youth, friendship, love, rivalry, and growth.
