BLACKPINK’s Rosé has become the center of controversy after ELLE UK was accused of “ambassador passing” in its coverage of the Saint Laurent fashion show.
Fans discovered that Rosé had been deliberately cropped out of a group photo posted on ELLE UK’s official Instagram account.
The disputed image was taken on September 29 (local time) at the Saint Laurent Women’s 2026 S/S Collection show in Paris. The original photo featured four prominent figures: model Hailey Bieber, model-actress Zoë Kravitz (a Saint Laurent ambassador), influencer Debby Han, and Rosé of BLACKPINK.
However, the version uploaded by ELLE UK excluded Rosé, who had been positioned on the far right. This omission sparked outrage as Rosé had attended the show as an official global ambassador, only to be portrayed as if she was never there.
Rosé has served as Saint Laurent’s global ambassador since 2020, earning the moniker “Human Saint Laurent.” In January 2025, she was also named global ambassador for YSL Beauté, further solidifying her role as a symbolic face of the brand.
Given her long-standing position with the fashion house, fans around the world flooded ELLE UK’s social media with protests, writing comments such as “Where is Rosé?” and demanding answers for why a major UK-based fashion magazine excluded her from the spotlight.
