Park Hae Soo is set to return to the small screen, taking on the role of a detective tracking down the true culprit behind a murder case.
Park will star in ENA’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Scarecrow' (written by Lee Ji Hyun, directed by Park Joon Woo). He plays Kang Tae Joo, a detective known for his tenacious observation skills and sharp instincts.
During the investigation of a serial murder case, Kang Tae Joo comes face-to-face with a troubled connection from his school days - Cha Si Young (played by Lee Hee Joon), who is now the prosecutor in charge of the case. Their uneasy alliance is expected to deliver a gripping investigative dynamic.
Newly released stills have also drawn attention. Kang Tae Joo is seen among uniformed officers, his expression contrasting sharply with the serious atmosphere, heightening curiosity about the drama.
Viewers also get a glimpse of Kang Tae Joo after being demoted from Seoul to a provincial post. As a string of mysterious murders unfolds, he surveys the crime scenes with an intense gaze.

This marks Park Hae Soo’s return to a television drama for the first time in about five years, rather than an OTT series. “It feels like I’m introducing myself anew, so I’m both nervous and excited,” he shared.
Explaining his reason for choosing the project, Park said, “I was deeply intrigued by the narrative strength of Scarecrow and the weight of the experiences Kang Tae Joo goes through as he confronts various cases.”
He added, “Kang Tae Joo is someone who stands confidently by his own principles. He’s a character who understands and embraces the pain of victims and those around them.”
“He fails, clashes, and breaks at times, but continues to stand against injustice,” Park continued. “I was drawn to how he acknowledges and faces his own shortcomings.”
'The Scarecrow' tells the story of a detective investigating a murder case who is forced into an unexpected partnership with someone he despises. The drama is set to premiere on April 20.
