Netflix’s upcoming fantasy romantic comedy 'Genie, Make a Wish' stars Kim Woo Bin as a thousand-year-old genie and Suzy as an emotionally detached human. Set to premiere on October 3, ahead of Chuseok, the series follows the two as they engage in a daring contest over three wishes, blending magic, romance, and suspense.
The trailer, released on September 18, teases the unpredictable dynamic between the mischievous Kim Woo Bin and the stoic, untempted Suzy. Known for granting wishes while corrupting humans, Kim Woo Bin meets his match in Suzy, who proposes a “best-of-five, three-win life-or-death bet” to challenge his belief that humans inevitably succumb to temptation. This sparks a rollercoaster relationship filled with chaos, witty banter, and unexpected romance.
Viewers can expect a mix of fantastical visuals and emotional moments, from passionate kisses to waltzing across time and space. Tension rises further when Soo Hyun, the “Angel of Death,” appears, questioning whether Suzy’s wishes remain pure. Meanwhile, other characters who acquire the genie’s lamp hint at how their desires might intersect with Kim Woo Bin and Suzy’s story.
Screenwriter Kim Eun Sook said, “Following the characters’ varied wishes, viewers will experience lingering emotions and a storm of heartfelt moments.”
'Genie, Make a Wish' premieres on Netflix on October 3.
