Kim Dongwan and Andy of legendary K-pop group SHINHWA recently delighted fans with a cheerful reunion, sharing glimpses of their friendship that spans over 28 years.
On September 9th KST, Kim Dongwan posted a short video on his personal social media account with the playful caption, “Andy’s gotten a bit cocky since becoming a CEO.” The clip featured the duo’s lively banter and moments from their recent meetup.
According to the footage, their reconnection began when Kim Dongwan texted Andy on August 24th, writing, “How have you been? You showed up in my dream.” Andy replied, “Out of nowhere? lol I’ve been working hard. Are you resting now that your drama’s over?” A week later, Andy returned the favor, saying, “You okay? You showed up in my dream this time,” prompting Kim to laugh, “We need to meet up. Why do we keep dreaming about each other?”
Eventually, the two met in person. Kim Dongwan visited Andy’s office, joking as he admired the office sofa, “Your TV’s really nice.” Andy responded with an exasperated, “Why are you filming this?” before turning off the camera. They later moved to a restaurant for a casual meal.
After dinner, Kim Dongwan jokingly asked Andy to dance to SHINHWA’s classic track “Eusha Eusha”, saying, “Thanks for the meal, Andy. Just give me one ‘Eusha Eusha’ dance.” Though initially reluctant, Andy eventually gave in—hiding his face and body out of embarrassment—much to Kim’s delight, who watched on with a proud grin.
The video quickly gained attention for showcasing the duo’s enduring friendship and playful dynamic, with fans commenting, “Still adorable and fun after all these years,” “This is why we love SHINHWA,” and “28 years of real friendship—truly admirable.”
The video also drew comments about Andy’s slightly fuller appearance, to which Kim Dongwan responded on his behalf: “I heard he’s been attending more drinking gatherings lately.” When fans teased that Kim looked younger than Andy, he quipped, “That’s how tough running a business is.”
Meanwhile, Andy recently founded AndU Entertainment, a management company focused on idol production, discovering new actors, and recruiting existing artists, marking a new chapter in his career.
