'I'm Solo' season 27 popular contestant 'Jeong Sook' has taken legal action against malicious commenters, accusing her of being a school bully.

Jeong Sook, who gained significant attention from viewers as a contestant on the popular dating program 'I’m Solo' (Season 27), aired on SBS Plus and ENA, has taken legal action against malicious rumors and personal attacks directed at her.

According to a report by The New Daily on September 16, Jeong Sook filed complaints against a total of 30 individuals at the Pohang Northern Police Station in Gyeongbuk, citing defamation and insult under the Information and Communications Network Act.

This action is in response to online allegations of school violence and various defamatory posts following her appearance on the show. Jeong Sook has strongly denied all such claims.

Baseless School Violence Allegations and Malicious Comments

Malicious comments targeting Jeong Sook have spread online since July, mainly on the DC Inside 'I’m Solo' Gallery forum.

In particular, abusive expressions such as "school violence human trash" and "Pohang b***ch" were used, along with false claims like "she hung out with school bullies during her school days."

Specific allegations even claimed that "Jeong Sook kicked and bullied a student who was ostracized in school" and "she teased and drove a wedge between students, worsening relationships in school." In response, Jeong Sook appeared on the YouTube channel of the 'I’m Solo' production company, Chonjang Entertainment, to publicly refute these claims, stating that they were false.

"I never bullied anyone."

In a statement sent to The New Daily, Jeong Sook clearly stated, "I never hit or bullied anyone during my school days." She explained, "There was only one class per grade, so I know who was known as an outcast, but although I felt sorry for that friend and shared meals with them several times, I have no memory of ever bullying anyone."

Furthermore, Jeong Sook expressed, "I even have a photo with the classmate who first spread these false claims. I want to confront them directly and receive an apology for why they portrayed me as the perpetrator." She added that these rumors have caused her "severe mental distress and disrupted the peace of daily life."

Malicious Rumors Against Public Figures and Legal Measures

Recently, malicious rumors and baseless defamation targeting TV personalities have become a growing social issue. Contestants on dating programs, in particular, often experience excessive exposure or distortion of their private lives after appearing on shows, leading to increasing mental distress.

Jeong Sook’s legal action serves as a firm stance against online defamation and malicious rumors, and it may set a precedent for other broadcast participants who face similar harm.

Police investigations and future developments in this case are now drawing public attention.
