Former 'We Got Married' couple Yura and Hong Jong Hyun have reunited after 12 years, drawing attention from longtime viewers who remember their time on the show.
On January 8, a video titled 'We Got Married Jong-Ah Couple Reunites After 12 Years | Untold Stories From Back Then!!' was uploaded to Yura’s YouTube channel yurayurahae. Aside from a brief on-screen moment in 2024, when Hong Jong Hyun appeared as a guest while Yura served as a panelist on 'History Bites,' this marked their first proper reunion in more than a decade.
Yura was unaware that Hong Jong Hyun would be appearing, making his entrance a complete surprise. Upon seeing him, she reacted in shock, saying, “What is this? brother? I’m really surprised.” The atmosphere quickly shifted to nostalgia as the two received a mission envelope reminiscent of their time on 'We Got Married,' naturally bringing back memories from the past.
Smiling, Yura commented, “Even though it’s been over 10 years, we grew up just fine.” Hong Jong Hyun agreed, replying, “You really did,” before adding, “Back then, we truly didn’t know anything.” He went on to share a behind-the-scenes story from their filming days, revealing that he once caught norovirus during a shoot. Recalling a shopping mall filming session, he said, “I kept disappearing in the middle of filming. I could have told you I was going to the restroom, but I think I was embarrassed back then. I did not say anything and just disappeared from time to time.”
The reunion continued as the two enjoyed an outdoor camping session together, where they spoke more openly about their experiences on the show. Yura fondly recalled their overseas trip, saying, “We had so much fun when we traveled abroad together.” When Hong Jong Hyun asked, “Was it Bali?” she replied, “That’s right. Through 'We Got Married,' it was my first time going overseas for a variety show. We rode zip lines, wore pretty outfits, and attended parties.”
Hong Jong Hyun added, “You went out dancing,” prompting Yura to laugh and respond, “Did I? You have such a good memory.” Their relaxed conversation and natural chemistry offered viewers a warm reminder of the bond they formed years ago, even as both have continued on their own paths.
