On September 14 at 6 PM (KST), singer Baek Ye Rin released "Close To You (From A Hundred Memories)" on major online music platforms as part of the official OST for JTBC’s new drama 'A Hundred Memories'.
The track is a reimagining of the Carpenters’ beloved 1970 classic "(They Long To Be) Close To You." Baek Ye Rin stays true to the purity and elegance of the original while adding her signature vintage acoustic color, resulting in a warm and heartfelt sound. The arrangement was led by drama music director Kwon Young Chan and singer-songwriter Kang Ji Won, who chose a minimal, analog-driven style that highlights the intimacy and resonance of live instruments.
This marks Baek Ye Rin’s first drama OST in about five years since 'Crash Landing on You', making the release even more meaningful. It also stands out as the first officially licensed remake of "Close To You," adding global attention to the drama’s soundtrack.
JTBC’s 'A Hundred Memories' is a retro-inspired youth melodrama set in the 1980s, telling the story of bus conductor Young Rye (Kim Da Mi), her best friend Jong Hee (Shin Ye Eun), and their intertwining connection with Jae Pil (Heo Nam Joon) and his tender first love. Baek Ye Rin’s lyrical voice and the analog arrangement are expected to deepen the emotional resonance of the drama’s nostalgic storyline.

The song itself carries the sentiment of taking out an old vinyl record, evoking intimacy and sentimentality while capturing the pure essence of love. As the OST unfolds, it delicately enriches the themes of first love and friendship, raising anticipation for the drama’s future episodes.
Meanwhile, a highlight medley featuring OST tracks by Baek Ye Rin, Kang A Sol, Heo Hye Kyung, and Yebit was pre-released on YouTube channel 'GOGOSING' on September 10, with the full soundtrack to be unveiled sequentially.
