Gong Myung has once again practiced generosity in time for the Chuseok holiday.
On September 16 KST, international relief and development NGO World Vision announced that the actor had donated ₩50 million (approx. $36,000 USD) to support children living in childcare facilities. The funds will be used to provide Chuseok gifts and to renovate spaces within the facilities.
At a donation ceremony held at World Vision’s headquarters, Gong Myung said, “I joined this initiative with the hope that the children can enjoy a warm Chuseok and have a safe, comforting place to rest. I’ll continue to do what I can to support those in need.”
In accordance with his wishes, the donation will be used to deliver holiday gifts to the children and remodel a rooftop area into a cozy shelter space where they can relax and share quality time. Gong Myung is also planning to visit the facility during the Chuseok holiday to take part in volunteer activities with the children.
His partnership with World Vision began in 2024, when he participated in a campaign supporting out-of-home youth. In May 2024, he was officially appointed as a World Vision ambassador, and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his acting debut, he made a commemorative donation.
Since then, he has continued his philanthropic efforts by supporting clean water initiatives in Bangladesh, medical aid for youth transitioning out of care, and more. In March 2025, he joined fellow Saram Entertainment artists Jung Geon Joo, Choi Hee Jin, Yoon So Hee, and Irene in a campaign to support children affected by war.
Most recently, Gong Myung traveled to Uganda to participate in hands-on volunteer work—demonstrating his deep and consistent commitment to children both in Korea and around the world.
His quiet yet impactful acts of kindness continue to resonate with many.
