JTBC’s new Friday series 'My Youth' (written by Park Si Hyun, directed by Lee Sang Yeop and Go Hye Jin) is set to premiere on September 5th. Ahead of the premiere, the show released its teaser poster and opening video on August 9th, beautifully capturing the heartfelt emotions of the story.
The drama tells the story of Sun Woo Hae, played by Song Joong Ki, a former child star turned writer who spent his prime years too early, and Sung Jae Yeon, played by Chun Woo Hee, a bulldozer-like team leader who is also his first love. As their lives cross paths once again, the rekindling of long-buried feelings stirs unexpected emotions between them.
The teaser poster draws attention with its nostalgic, vintage photo-like design featuring the two leads. The phrase "No matter how many times, no matter how long, I will always recognize you" deepens the bittersweet tone of their reunion.
Meanwhile, the opening teaser video evokes the innocence of their first love at nineteen. Scenes of a rainy day bus ride with young Sun Woo Hae, played by Nam Da Reum, and Sung Jae Yeon, played by Jeon So Young, bring back pure memories of youth. Though their adult selves look out at changed views, Woo Hae’s narration, "I wonder what you would say if you saw me now," hints at lingering feelings beneath the surface.
Supporting cast members include Lee Joo Myung as the emotionally candid and quirky actor Mo Tae Rin and Seo Ji Hoon as Kim Seok Joo, Tae Rin’s first love and a tax accountant. Their complex emotional storyline adds another layer of romance to the series.
'My Youth' will air its first episode on September 5th at 8:50 PM KST on JTBC. The drama will also be available on Coupang Play in Korea and internationally on Viu and Rakuten Viki.
