As of 7 AM on August 2, the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing network reported that 'My Daughter is a Zombie' has attracted a cumulative total of 1,146,221 viewers, reaching the milestone only four days after its release.
This achievement came one day faster than this year’s top-grossing film 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.' It also ties with Bong Joon Ho’s 'Mickey 17' for the fastest film of the year to surpass one million viewers. Additionally, it matches the pace set by 'Smugglers,' the biggest summer hit of 2023, and Pilot, the highest-grossing film of summer 2024.
To express their gratitude for the audience's enthusiastic support, the cast and crew of 'My Daughter is a Zombie' shared a celebratory photo commemorating the milestone. Director Pil Gam Seong, along with cast members Jo Jung Suk, Lee Jung Eun, Jo Yeo Jung, Yoon Kyung Ho, and Choi Yu Ree, thanked moviegoers while showing off their warm and genuine family-like chemistry, just like in the film.
'My Daughter is a Zombie' is a heartwarming comedy-drama about a devoted father who undergoes a secret training mission to protect his daughter, the last remaining zombie on Earth.
Meanwhile, 'F1 The Movie' recorded 89,905 viewers on August 1, bringing its total to 2,802,348 and placing second at the box office. 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' ranked third with 34,592 daily viewers and a cumulative total of 892,107.
