Since the initial dating rumors started in 2022/2023, BTS member Jimin’s fans targeted actress Song Da Eun with malicious comments, claiming she was dropping fake hints of a relationship with the idol and accusing her of being a stalker.

The controversy began in late 2022 when some fans alleged that Song had deliberately revealed "signals" of dating Jimin. The fan shared various photos showing the two allegedly wearing the same accessories and clothing, suggesting they were a couple's items. The fan also accused Song of being in the same location as Jimin.

One widely cited "evidence" that was cited was the similarity in bathroom interiors. However, while Song Da Eun had casually shared photos from her daily life, Jimin had never revealed his own bathroom. Fans instead tracked down promotional materials from Nine One Hannam, the luxury residence where Jimin lives, to draw comparisons.

While some believed the two were dating, others described the behavior as excessive, likening it to "stalker-level" actions. Because Song Da Eun denied the dating rumors and stated she had never even met Jimin at the time, fans scrutinized her posts and accused her of being a stalker. They dissected her photos in detail, attempting to match items with Jimin’s belongings, ultimately portraying her as a "delusional wannabe girlfriend."

Since then, more photos have surfaced online, which some fans cited as further "evidence" of Song Da Eun dating the BTS member. Despite this, she continued to face accusations and harassment, with some even labeling her a "stalker." The situation escalated to the point where Song Da Eun eventually released a video featuring Jimin himself.

This incident is receiving renewed attention online following the video release, with many netizens commenting on the photos that Song Da Eun had released over the years.

Korean netizens commented:

"Honestly, she didn’t completely avoid giving hints."

"I’m not a fan, but honestly, she did give some hints. When you’re dating such a famous idol, you should be more careful. Anyway, I hope they make it to marriage."

"Not showing any hints basically means she shouldn’t post on Instagram at all. If that’s the logic, then fans might as well send a “no dating” protest truck."

"You guys were the ones who started with stalking and personal attacks. She reacted out of frustration, so why act like you don’t understand the cause and effect?"

"
Even if she dropped some hints, so what? They’re dating because they like each other. It’s weird that only Song Da Eun got hate while fans creepily analyzed every single photo. That’s disgusting."

"And what about the idol who went live from home? All the blame gets pushed onto the woman, which is ridiculous. Funny how people who preached about women’s rights suddenly disappear when it’s about their idol. Are women dating and living together all by themselves? It was fans who cyberbullied and drove her into a corner."

"The only reason she mentioned it was because fans kept harassing her. If obsessive fangirls hadn’t provoked her, none of this would’ve happened."

"Birds of a feather."

"Honestly, if I’d seen each thing separately, I wouldn’t have noticed. They’re just buying furniture and clothes. Rich people tend to have similar stuff."

"This counts as 'dropping hints'? More like fans were desperately digging with their eyes wide open."

"And now you’re back to 'she gave hints' again? You were the ones doing stalker-level stuff, even trying to pin it on other members until it blew up. Other fandoms just quietly let dating slide, but you guys call this love? This isn’t being a fan, it’s an obsession."

"Idols are people, too. Give it a rest."

"Just leave them alone… sigh."

"If they’ve been dating for 7 years and this is all you’ve found, then clearly you were digging with a magnifying glass. She denied it at first, so fans should’ve dropped it. Instead, they kept digging for years, insulting her, and treating her like she’s mentally ill. Of course, she wasn’t going to stay quiet forever."

"What’s so wrong with dating? A long-term relationship actually looks healthier and more admirable."

"People knew years ago, but stayed quiet to avoid blowing things up. Yet fans are still blaming the woman and deflecting with “other members’ fandoms.” Honestly, no sane person would act like Jimin’s fandom did. They’re the biggest embarrassment to the K-pop community."

"I looked her up and she’s a ’91-liner, mid-30s. That’s how she handled it? Makes me wonder if she craved attention and recognition more than love. If not, then why not just enjoy dating in private and living life? A few obsessive fans ranting isn’t worth all this. Why not just ignore them or stop using social media?"

"If she wore something fans had given him, then maybe that’s hinting. But this level? Come on, he’s just a person too."

"Whether she hinted or fans obsessively dug, both sides look bad. But if an idol is living with someone, maybe they should handle things a little more carefully."

"Complaining about 'dropping hints' is ridiculous. Why can’t they? Fans just don’t want their feelings hurt. When it’s revealed, they accuse the idol of 'selling fanservice' and call the girlfriend 'attention-seeking.' That’s the real delusion."

"They’ve been together 7 years without dropping hints. She waited while he served in the military, and they’re even living together now."
