BoA finally got the chance to open up about being part of SM Entertainment's project group GOT the beat.
On August 6, Hyoyeon invited BoA to sit down for an intimate talk on her YouTube channel Hyo's Level Up. During the episode, BoA opened up about various topics, including her career, the malicious comments she faced, and the group GOT the beat.
The topic about GOT the beat came up when Hyoyeon shared, "When we were promoting 'GOT the beat' together, I learned a lot from BoA." Hyoyeon elaborated, "I tend to think 'That's good enough,' but BoA checks the stage movement until it's perfect."
However, BoA refuted, "But I'm the one who makes the most mistakes," making everyone laugh. BoA shared, "It's my first time performing in a group. I've never done stage movement before. I also had different choreographies from other members. That's why I kept messing up. It was embarrassing."

Hyoyeon then asked, "I heard that during our Girls' Generation days, you wanted to try group activities. What does that feel like?" BoA responded, "I've been a solo artist for decades. I was curious. But I don't think it's necessary (to experience being in a group)."
BoA then clarified, "There's a big misunderstanding. People think GOT the Beat was created because of me. It's really not because of me. I kept running away because I didn't want to do it either. I even sent a message saying I couldn't do it. I said I don't think I'd fit in with the group."
BoA then confessed that she had read all the malicious comments and felt upset. She shared, "There were a lot of malicious comments. I ended up being convinced to do it, but still got criticized. It was really upsetting." She added, "That's why I tried harder to show my best. That's why I really got more nervous."
