Actress Go Min Si has finally broken her silence, approximately 3 months after an anonymous netizen accused her of bullying other classmates in middle school.
On August 28 KST, Go Min Si wrote via her Instagram,
"While waiting these past few months for the results of the investigation, I have no clue how many times a day I've had to shove down the emotional turmoil that would fill to the brim.
I have decided to speak my position as it is only my duty to those who have been waiting patiently for me.
I am well aware that I was an immature student who enjoyed rebelling. Because I regret those days, I have set myself on a path of honesty with the mind to live a better life, even if it's not perfect. The gossip and the rumors are mine to endure and thus, I have let them be, but my imperfect past is no reason for me to accept false accusations raised against me.
I must admit what is true, and I must speak up in denial against what is false.
Therefore, I swear in all sincerity when I say that I have never committed school violence.
Currently, no proof of my involvement in school violence exists except for an accusation raised by an anonymous individual on an online community who claims to be a 'victim'. While I admit that it is difficult to present definitive evidence in cases such as school bullying, I am nonetheless presenting any form of evidence that I can to prove that I was never a 'perpetrator' of school violence in any form. The investigation is still ongoing, and I will press on until the truth is revealed, no matter how much time it takes.
It is also my belief that those who commit school violence, a serious social issue, must be punished strictly.
However, to misuse this issue in a malicious attempt poses the risk of steering attention away from real cases of school violence and from the gravity of this problem in society.
It is my dire hope that everyone will come to realize just how cruel and horrendous it is to be able to ruin another person in the world of the internet, where people will say whatever they want, and make assumptions and conclusions as they see fit, regardless of the actual factuality of the matter.
The truth will always come to light."
Meanwhile, Go Min Si previously issued a public apology after photos of her drinking alcohol as a minor surfaced online in 2021. In June of this year, it was reported that Go Min Si had been dropped from the drama 'Grand Galaxy Hotel' as the female lead in light of the school bullying controversy. She is currently filming for another project, the Netflix series 'Sweet Part-Time Job'.
