We're Still Waiting! Here are 7 K-Dramas that Need a Second Season

Sometimes, one season just isn't enough. These dramas gave us unforgettable characters, intriguing plots, and emotional rollercoasters, only to leave us hanging with unresolved endings or wide open doors for a second season that never came.

A few of these shows also left us with emotional damage that we refuse to get over. We need that season 2 to heal our broken hearts. Whether it’s for closure, justice, or just to see our favourite characters again, here are 7 K-dramas that fans still wish had a second season. Here we go!

Be warned, Possible Spoilers Ahead! If you haven't watched these shows, you may want to do so first.

TWINKLING WATERMELON (2023)

High schooler Eun Gyeol is a CODA (child of deaf adults) who has a passion for music. After being transported back to 1995, he meets his teenage dad and forms a band called Watermelon Sugar. The show ends with Gyeol returning to the present, where his father is now a successful entertainer.

What Season 2 Could Explore

We never get to see the journey that led them there. A second season could have explored Yi Chan’s college life, his struggles after the accident, and how he found his way back to music.

TOMORROW (2022)

This show was a surprise hit with its heavy themes and emotional storytelling. The finale left the door open. Jun Woong loses his memories of the afterlife team but runs into them again in a scene that hints at a reunion 50 years later.

What Season 2 Could Explore

Fans are still hoping for a season that explores Go Ryeon and Park Joong Gil’s past love and the team’s future missions.

TWENTY FIVE TWENTY ONE (2022)

One of the most heartbreaking endings in K-drama history, 'Twenty Five Twenty One' left fans with more questions than answers. What really happened between Baek Ijin and Na Hee Do? Why did they part ways after everything they went through? And who is Hee Do’s mysterious fiancé? The finale had everyone sobbing.

What Season 2 Could Explore

A second season could fill in the missing pieces and give the couple the closure fans have been craving.

VINCENZO (2021)

Song Joong Ki’s slick and stylish consigliere won fans worldwide. The show ended with Vincenzo escaping to Malta after his dramatic takedown of Babel Group. But his feelings for Chayoung are still unresolved, and the fun yet chaotic chemistry between the Geumga Plaza residents is too good to let go.

What Season 2 Could Explore

Definitely not over our mafia lawyer just yet. A second season could bring him back to Korea and back to her. Legendary team up, ready to take on new challenges.

THE DEVIL JUDGE (2021)

In a dystopian Korea where trials are broadcast live, Judge Kang Yo Han delivers justice while hiding secrets of his own. The series ended with Yo Han faking his death and going into hiding, while Ga-on continued to fight the system alone.

What Season 2 Could Explore

A second season could easily pick up with Yo Han’s return and the two teaming up once more to bring down the rotten elite.

HOTEL DEL LUNA (2019)

Man Wol and Chan Sung’s bittersweet romance made 'Hotel Del Luna,' an unforgettable drama. The series beautifully blended fantasy and emotion as it told the story of a cursed hotel owner and the man who helped her heal. While the series wrapped up its arc, the final episode teased a new chapter with a mysterious owner of Hotel Blue Moon.

What Season 2 Could Explore

Who is he? What sins does he need to pay for? Fans would love to see this fresh story unfold.

MOON LOVERS: SCARLET HEART (2016)

This historical fantasy romance follows Go Ha Jin, a modern-day woman who wakes up in the Goryeo Dynasty in the body of noblewoman Haesoo. It left viewers heartbroken with its tragic ending. After a tragic ending in Goryeo, Haesoo wakes up in the present with memories of her past life.

What Season 2 Could Explore

Fans still hope for a second season where Wang So is reborn in modern Korea and they reunite, this time with a happier ending.
