The blockbuster escape reality show is returning with a new twist. Ahead of its official release, 'The Great Escape: The Story' has unveiled a thrilling highlight video that offers a glimpse into its expanded universe.
A reboot of the popular series 'The Great Escape,' the new show features Kang Ho Dong, Kim Dong Hyun, Yoo Byung Jae, Go Kyung Pyo, Baekhyun, and Yeo Jin Goo. Known for its immersive settings and puzzle-solving missions, the upcoming season introduces a refreshed format where cast members solve mysteries and tackle high-stakes situations within complex narratives.
This marks the series’ first new season since 2022, following the departure of the original director Jung Jong Yeon. 'The Great Escape: The Story' is scheduled to premiere on July 23.
The highlight video opens with the ominous line, “We’ve stepped into a place we should never have entered,” setting the stage for intense encounters. It shows the cast facing dangerous challenges left behind by five villains across five distinct settings. With time travel as the central theme, the teaser hints at a wide range of historical and futuristic backdrops, staying true to the series’ signature expansive world-building.
