Super Junior’s Ryeowook is drawing attention for his polite response to a fan’s somewhat rude remark.
In a recent episode of the YouTube series “Singing Live While Pretending It’s a Backing Track” on the channel JAYKEEOUT, Super Junior members Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, and Yesung appeared as guests.
Before singing, the trio looked visibly nervous, drinking water and warming up their voices. They then performed a live rendition of “The Season When We Shone Blue”. During the performance, Ryeowook glanced at his phone for lyrics.
One online user commented on X (formerly Twitter):
“Ryeowook ahjussi, if it’s a 20th anniversary project, at least memorize the lyrics. Why are you singing ‘Blue Shining Season’ while looking at your phone?”
In response, Ryeowook politely replied,
“I’m sorry. It must’ve been uncomfortable to watchㅠ I do know the lyrics, but I was worried I might forget them because I was nervous.”
He added,
“It was such a fun concept, but even after 20 years of singing, this was my first time pretending a live was a backing track—it made me sweat! Thank you for listening to our song. Have a great day!”
Other fans praised his mature and kind response, commenting:
“Oppa, you’re the best. No need to apologize. Super Junior has so many songs—how could anyone remember them all?”
“You were so sweet in replying to a rude comment. It was touching.”
“Looking at lyrics on your phone is totally understandable.”
