
Shim Eun Kyung will attend the prestigious 'Locarno Film Festival' with the Japanese film 'Travel and Daily Life,' which has been officially selected for the International Competition section of the '78th Locarno International Film Festival.'
On July 10, production company at9 Film announced, “'Travel and Daily Life,' directed by Sho Miyake, has been invited to compete in the International Competition at the 'Locarno Film Festival.'”
The festival’s selection committee described the film as “philosophical without pretense, and dreamlike while remaining firmly grounded in reality.” They added, “It quietly reflects on what life means and why we choose certain paths, offering a profound exploration of human nature.”
Director Sho Miyake commented, “This is the first international film festival I’ve ever participated in. It’s a place filled with genuine respect for cinema. I’m happy and deeply honored.”
Shim Eun Kyung shared, “It was an honor to be part of Director Miyake’s cinematic world. I’m thrilled to showcase this work on such a special stage.”
'Travel and Daily Life' is based on a manga by Yoshiharu Tsuge and tells the story of a screenwriter whose life changes after meeting an innkeeper in a snow-covered travel destination.
Shim plays the role of the screenwriter, reportedly deciding to join the project after being deeply moved by the script. The role of Benjo, the innkeeper, is played by Shinichi Tsutsumi.
'Travel and Daily Life' is slated for release in South Korea this winter.
