Shoo revealed that she recently gained 14kg (30.8 lbs) and reached the highest weight of her life.
On the July 9 episode of Channel A’s 'Star Health Ranking No. 1,' S.E.S. member Shoo joined as a special guest for a health checkup.
Shoo shared, “Thank you for inviting me. As soon as I heard it was a health-related program, I felt I had to do it. I came on the show because I want to be healthier.” She added, “Since it’s been a while since I was last on TV, I went on a crash diet beforehand. But I ended up losing muscle as well, so I don’t think just starving yourself is a good way to lose weight.”
Lee Kyung Shil responded, “Still, the fact that you’re able to lose weight by starving yourself means you’re young. At our age, that could be dangerous.”
That day, the MCs and guests underwent various health tests, including checks for harmful gut bacteria, visceral fat, and body fat.
When the “ranking of people at high risk for weight rebound” was announced, Shoo commented, “I’m hoping to rank fourth,” and confessed, “Recently, I hit 54kg (119 lbs) for the first time in my life. That’s 14kg more than when I debuted. It’s the heaviest I’ve ever been.”
She continued, “I’ve especially gained weight in my belly. My pants don’t fit anymore, and it honestly makes me so sad. I’m currently on a crash diet. I’m barely eating and trying to exercise. I know it’s not good for my body, but I just want to wear pretty clothes again as soon as possible.”
