Following the successful run of the drama 'Salon de Holmes', a second season has officially been confirmed, with attention now turning to whether lead actress Lee Si Young will return.
On July 16, a representative from ENA’s Monday-Tuesday drama 'Salon de Holmes' told Xports News, “We recently confirmed production for season 2.”
The drama, which aired its final episode on July 15, is a comedic action series centered around four women — a former ace detective, an insurance queen, and a part-time job expert — who band together as neighborhood problem-solvers to take down the villains in the fictional Gwangseon Jugong Apartments.
The show gained popularity throughout its run, recording its highest-ever ratings in the final episode with a nationwide average of 3.6% and a peak of 4.5%, according to Nielsen Korea.
As anticipation builds among fans, news of the confirmed season 2 has been met with excitement. While broadcast details are yet to be finalized, there is already strong public interest in whether the season 1 cast — Lee Si Young, Jung Young Joo, Kim Dasom, and Nam Gi Ae, known as the “Zoomvengers” — will reunite.
Director Min Jin Ki, who successfully led season 1, is set to return for season 2. Cast members are also reportedly reviewing the offer positively. However, a major point of curiosity is whether Lee Si Young, who played the lead role of Gong Mi Ri and drove much of the plot, will be able to return — as she is currently expecting her second child, making scheduling difficult.
In a July 15 interview with Xports News, Jung Young Joo expressed her desire to return for season 2 and commented humorously on Lee Si Young’s possible participation.
“She’s the kind of person who would show up even heavily pregnant. I have no doubt,” Jung Young Joo said with a laugh. She added, “I think there will be a bit of time before production starts anyway.”
Jung Young Joo also revealed that she noticed Lee Si Young’s pregnancy weeks before it was officially announced. “I saw her at the press conference three weeks before the news broke. Her face looked thinner and I thought, ‘She must be tired.’ Then I noticed her belly and thought, ‘That’s unusual.’ I didn’t suspect pregnancy at the time because she had just made headlines for her divorce.”
With 'Salon de Holmes' ending on a high note and the quick confirmation of season 2, there’s growing hope that production and scheduling will move forward swiftly. Viewers are now eagerly waiting to see if the full “Zoomvengers” cast will return — and whether, as Jung Young Joo jokingly suggested, Lee Si Young might appear in season 2 while heavily pregnant or make her return after giving birth.
