Rapper San E cleared of all charges in trespassing and property damage case.
On July 8th KST, rapper San E (real name Jung San) announced via his personal account that he had been cleared of all charges in a case involving alleged joint trespassing and property damage. Authorities cited insufficient evidence and issued a “no indictment” ruling, effectively dropping the case.
The case stemmed from a complaint filed in March by Chinese singer RETA, who accused her agency CEO San E and an associate (identified as A) of entering her residence without consent and disposing of her belongings while she was staying in China due to visa issues.
According to RETA’s legal claim, San E allegedly instructed staff to enter her residence and remove or discard personal items, including furniture, despite never being given the door passcode or consent to do so.
However, following the investigation, authorities concluded that the available evidence was insufficient to support the charges, and San E was officially cleared.
Debuting in 2010, San E is known for several hit songs including "A Story of Someone I Know" and "A Midsummer Night’s Sweetness". He has also appeared on popular music programs such as Mnet’s 'Show Me the Money', 'Unpretty Rapstar', and 'High School Rapper 2'.
In a separate incident last year, San E was investigated for allegedly assaulting a passerby near a park entrance in Seoul’s Mapo District. That case was later resolved with a deferred prosecution in March of this year. At the time, he issued a public apology through his legal representative:
“I sincerely apologize to the victim. Although I first offer my apology through this statement, I hope to meet in person and ask for forgiveness. I deeply regret disappointing so many people and accept full responsibility for my actions.”
