Pentagon's Yan An is temporarily halting his activities due to health issues.
Yan An personally revealed to fans that a benign tumor was found on his head, and he is scheduled to undergo surgery this August.
According to a report by Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday on July 23 (local time), Yan An communicated with fans through a live broadcast on the 22nd. During the livestream, he shared that he would be unable to continue filming dramas for the time being, citing health problems as the reason.
Yan An candidly explained that the benign tumor had been present for quite some time. He admitted that he was supposed to have surgery long ago, but was unable to find the right time due to filming schedules and other work commitments.
Recently, Yan An's condition has worsened. He confessed, “The tumor suddenly grew, causing swelling and pain, which led me to finally decide on surgery.” He added that he plans to shave his head and undergo the procedure in August.
Yan An also shared that he will take a few weeks to recover after the surgery. To reassure his concerned fans, he added, “It’s not a serious illness, so I hope you won’t worry too much.”
Meanwhile, Yan An debuted as a member of the K-pop group Pentagon in 2016. After his exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment expired in 2023, he has been actively pursuing his career as an actor in China.
