Netflix’s series 'Trigger' abruptly canceled a scheduled fan event livestream, with speculation that the decision was influenced by a recent tragic shooting in Incheon.

On July 21, Naver announced via its official channel, “The livestream has been canceled at the request of the event organizers. We ask for the understanding of all those who were waiting, and we thank you for your patience and support.”

Naver TV and CHZZK had planned to exclusively broadcast the 'Trigger TALK&SHOT' fan event that afternoon. The event had generated excitement with the confirmed attendance of lead actors Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang. However, Naver stated only that “the livestream was canceled at the request of the event organizers,” without providing further details.

Speculation arose linking the cancellation to the recent shooting incident in Songdo, Incheon. On July 20, a 60-year-old man, identified as Mr. A, shot and killed his 30-year-old son, Mr. B, with a homemade shotgun equipped with metal pellets during a birthday party.

'Trigger' is an action thriller that tackles the issue of indiscriminate gun violence stemming from the illegal spread of firearms in South Korea. Given the sensitive timing and the emotional impact of the recent real-life tragedy involving guns, it is believed that the production team decided to cancel the event to respect the somber mood and avoid further distress.
