The allegations of military violence involving singer Moon Won, Shinji's fiancée, have been proven to be false.
On July 2, a netizen claimed, “As someone who served in the military with Moon Won, I had such a hard time because of him that I wanted to die and barely made it through my service. There were many abusive words and actions he directed at me. I hope people think twice before marrying him.”
In response, Sports Chosun contacted a soldier, referred to as Mr. A, who served in the military with Moon Won. Mr. A was Moon Won’s subordinate during their service together in 2009.
Mr. A said, “We were in a small guard unit and lived in a shared barracks. Even though you might not know everyone in a unit, we had fewer than 100 people, sometimes as few as 70, so most of us knew each other. Moon Won was my senior by nine months.”

He continued, “I have no memory of Moon Won ever committing any acts of violence. You can usually tell by talking to someone. He’s not the type to hit or abuse others. Our enlistment periods were far apart, so if he did something, I would have said so, but he wasn’t a bad person. He wasn’t even the most senior in the unit. He was somewhere in the middle, which was actually a tough position. Especially back then, it was an era when some irregularities were inevitable,” he explained. “We worked in two-person teams, senior and junior, and he was great. We had personal conversations, and he made things comfortable. When we went on duty or climbed mountains, he made sure we took turns resting and cooling down. He really looked out for me.”
So what was Moon Won’s military life like? Mr. A shared, “What I remember most is that he exercised and sang every day.”
Moon Won is currently preparing to marry Koyote’s Shinji. On July 2, he also revealed that he had previously been married and that his ex-wife is raising their daughter. Following this, various unfounded accusations surfaced online, worsening public opinion. However, these allegations have turned out to be false, raising awareness about the dangers of misinformation.
Regarding the controversies surrounding him, Moon Won stated, “I want to clearly state that some claims are not true. The allegations that I bullied friends or subordinates during school or military service are completely false. If necessary, I am willing to provide objective evidence to prove this. It is also true that I got married due to a premarital pregnancy with my former wife, but I want to make it clear that I was never involved in a double relationship during that time."
