I.M, a member of MONSTA X, will be temporarily stepping away from activities due to chronic back pain, according to an official statement from Starship Entertainment released on July 29th KST.
The agency stated,
“I.M is currently undergoing treatment for back pain. Based on medical advice, we have decided that he requires a stable recovery period, and thus, his activities will be put on hold.”
As a result, I.M will not be able to participate in upcoming schedules, including KCON LA 2025, scheduled for August 2nd. The agency emphasized,
“We are prioritizing the artist’s health and will do our utmost to support his full recovery.”
Decisions regarding future activities will be made based on further medical assessments and I.M’s recovery progress.
This announcement follows I.M’s absence from Waterbomb Busan 2025 on July 26th, which he also missed due to back pain. At the time, the agency explained,
“I.M recently experienced back pain and visited the hospital, where he was advised to rest and undergo treatment.”
Meanwhile, MONSTA X is set to make a comeback on September 1st with their new mini album ‘THE X’, marking their 10th debut anniversary. Anticipation is high for the group’s return, with expectations of a more mature sound and powerful performances. Member Joohoney recently stated,
“MONSTA X has prepared a weapon to set the tone in K-pop,”
raising excitement for their comeback.
