ALLDAY PROJECT's Annie talks about family’s support on 'Point of Omniscient Interfere'

On the July 26 episode of MBC’s 'Point of Omniscient Interfere,' ALLDAY PROJECT members Annie and Tarzzan appeared as guests and shared stories about how their families have been reacting to their growing fame.

Host Hong Hyun Hee asked if their parents often watched the show. Annie responded with a smile, saying that it frequently plays in her father’s room. Tarzzan added with a laugh that his parents tell each other to quickly change the channel because their son is on TV. He also shared that his father even joked about quitting his job.

Lee Young Ja then playfully asked Annie if her parents were also considering quitting their jobs now that she was enjoying so much success. Annie replied that she was not sure if it had reached that point, but she noticed that her parents were spending more time watching television. She recently received a video from her father showing their dogs sitting in the living room watching her fancam on TV.

Jun Hyun Moo asked Annie when she first mentioned her dream of becoming a singer. Annie recalled that when she was around ten years old, she passed by her mother’s room while a program was on and casually asked what she would think if she became a singer. Her mother dismissed the idea right away, so she assumed it was not a possibility. A few years later, she brought it up again, but her mother still strongly opposed the idea. Eventually, her mother told her that if she got into an Ivy League university, she would support her dream. Annie added that she eventually achieved that goal.

When asked if she had always been good at studying, Annie explained that she was not necessarily talented in academics but was extremely determined once she set a goal. She shared that she received her college acceptance notice during the early morning hours due to the time difference, while she was staying in Korea. Her mother was asleep at the time, and when Annie told her she had been accepted, her mother simply responded that it was amazing and went back to sleep. The next morning, Annie asked again for confirmation, and her mother replied that yes, it was official.

Annie is the granddaughter of Shinsegae Group Chairwoman Lee Myung Hee and the eldest daughter of Shinsegae President Chung Yoo Kyung.
