The Netflix series 'All of Us Are Dead' is returning for its second chapter. The hit zombie series is making a comeback and has officially announced the cast lineup for its second season.
Based on the legendary webtoon by writer Joo Dong Geun, 'All of Us Are Dead' follows the desperate struggle of students trapped in a high school where a zombie virus outbreak began. The series made a mark in the “K-zombie survival” genre, captivating global fans.
Season 1 was praised for its thrilling action and emotional depth, portraying the students’ desperate fight to survive, their friendship and love under extreme circumstances, and clever, varied action sequences that unfolded across the school. Upon release, the show immediately entered Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Series and recorded a staggering 560.78 million viewing hours within 28 days, creating a worldwide sensation.
Season 2 will return with an expanded universe and scale. Just when everyone believes the nightmare is over and life has returned to normal, a new zombie virus emerges: this time engulfing Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Director Lee Jae Gyu and writer Chun Sung Il, the creative duo behind the global success of the first season, reunite to heighten fans’ anticipation.
Expectations are especially high for the returning cast, who are back stronger than ever. Park Ji Hu, known for her performances in 'Concrete Utopia,' 'House of Hummingbird,' and the drama 'Little Women,' returns as a more resilient On Jo. Now a college student and one of the few survivors of the Hyosan High zombie outbreak, she tries to forget the nightmare of her past, only to face another disaster.
Attention is also on how Cheong San, who risked everything to protect his friends last season, will return. After his breakout in 'All of Us Are Dead,' Yoon Chan Young solidified his status as a rising star with lead roles in 'Hyper Knife,' 'High School Return of a Gangster,' 'Delivery Man,' and 'Hope or Dope' series.
Cho Yi Hyun, beloved for her roles in 'Head over Heels,' 'The Matchmakers,' and 'Hospital Playlist,' will once again play the strong half-zombie Nam Ra. Park Solomon, who has been gaining attention through 'Branding in Seongsu,' 'Family Matters,' and 'Human from Today,' also returns as Su Hyeok, who still holds feelings for Nam Ra.
This season also introduces new characters. Lee Min Jae will appear as Ma Ru, On Jo’s college senior. Kim Si Eun will play Ju Ran, a sociable and active student who’s deeply involved in the student council and clubs. Roh Jae Won, known for his breakout role in 'Squid Game,' will take on the role of NIS team leader Han Doo Seok, adding tension to the storyline, while Yoon Ga Yi will bring fresh energy as the outspoken and lively student Jong Ah.
