Disney+ psychological thriller 'Nine Puzzles' made a strong impression on viewers with its recent release. It quickly became the second-most-watched Korean content on the Disney+ platform, achieving the feat in its first week.
'Nine Puzzles' follows the story of Ena (played by Kim Da Mi), the sole witness to an unsolved cold case and now a criminal profiler, and Detective Han Saem (played by Son Suk Ku), who still suspects Ena as the main suspect. The two investigate a series of new murders all featuring the reappearance of mysterious puzzle pieces, while their complex personal dynamic adds another layer of complication to the mix.
With the final episodes of 'Nine Puzzles' having been released this week, fans are already wondering about the possibility of another season. Actor Son Suk Ku answered this pressing question in a recent interview, providing his honest answer: "I don't think there will be a season 2." He laughed, continuing: "In a previous interview, I said that there would be no season 2, but the reporters asked, 'Why are you trampling on the fans' expectations and hopes?'"
Son Suk Ku stated there was still some possibility of another season, however. "I think the writers could make another story about Ena and Han Saem, but I've never thought about it. The reason I'm speaking so negatively is that I don't want to get people's hopes up for something that might not exist... There were no discussions about a season 2. Although, in the past, 'D.P Season 2' was made because the fans wanted it. Some fans have also asked for a second season of 'My Liberation Notes.'" He ultimately concluded: "I think the chances are very slim. Not just due to scheduling conflicts, but because of various other circumstances. I don’t think it’s likely."
Similarly, co-star Kim Da Mi also shared her thoughts on the possibility of a second season of 'Nine Puzzles.' The actress stated, "There haven’t been any talks about a Season 2." When asked whether she would be willing to return for another season, she answered, "I'd have to think about it. If there is a Season 2, it should be different from Season 1, but still keep the parts fans loved. That’s something I’d need to really consider."
