
The drama 'Our Unwritten Seoul', starring actress Park Bo Young, has landed at No. 3 on Netflix’s global non-English TV series chart.
According to Netflix’s Global Top 10 (non-English) ranking released on June 4th KST, 'Our Unwritten Seoul', aired by tvN, ranked third globally for the period of May 26 to June 1. During this time, the series logged 2.8 million views and 14.7 million hours of viewing.
'Our Unwritten Seoul' is a romantic coming-of-age drama about twin sisters who switch lives through a lie, only to discover real love and identity. Park Bo Young plays both sisters, Yoo Mi Ji and Yoo Mi Rae, who are identical in appearance but polar opposites in personality.
The international media has also taken notice. U.S. entertainment magazine Variety praised Park’s performance, stating that she “takes on the complex challenge of portraying twin sisters with shifting identities, delivering four distinct personas with impressive nuance.”
Forbes also commended her: “In this new K-drama, Park Bo Young gives a compelling performance as twins with contrasting personalities, convincingly switching roles to impersonate each other.”
The South China Morning Post wrote, “Park Bo Young not only clearly distinguishes the two sisters but skillfully handles scenes where they act as each other, capturing both the pain and resilience of each character.”
Viewer response around the globe has been equally strong. On IMDb, Our Unwritten Seoul holds an average rating of 8.5, with Episode 3 scoring a particularly high 9.7. All four episodes released so far have scored above 9.
On Japan’s leading content review platform Filmarks, the drama currently holds an impressive 4.4 out of 5 stars.
