JTBC has confirmed the premiere date for its upcoming weekend drama 'Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Law' (working title), set to air on August 2.
The drama has drawn attention with its impressive lead cast including Lee Jin Wook, Jung Chae Yeon, Lee Hak Ju and Jeon Hye Bin. Set in a major law firm, the show promises a compelling mix of courtroom intensity and emotional depth.
'Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Law' tells the story of Kang Hyo Min, a rookie lawyer at the law firm Yullim, who is full of passion and integrity but lacks real-world experience. Played by Jung Chae Yeon, Hyo Min begins her journey under the mentorship of Yoon Seok Hoon, a top partner lawyer portrayed by Lee Jin Wook. While Seok Hoon appears cold and distant, he is respected for his unmatched legal skills and serves as a key figure in Hyo Min’s professional growth.
Lee Jin Wook’s character Yoon Seok Hoon is a strategic and unyielding attorney who prefers creative arguments over traditional logic. Though he maintains a cold front in the courtroom, he reveals a sincere and caring side when it comes to people he values. The role is expected to highlight Lee Jin Wook’s signature charisma and emotional depth.
Jung Chae Yeon plays Kang Hyo Min, a young and slightly clumsy new hire in the litigation team. Despite her occasional awkwardness, she shines under pressure with sharp intuition and quick thinking. Her character’s growth through ongoing legal battles is a key element of the drama’s storyline.
