Kim Soo Hyun has maintained his position as the No. 1 male star in the Star Ranking poll for five consecutive weeks.
From May 29 at 3:01 PM to June 5 at 3:00 PM, Kim Soo Hyun ranked first in the 115th round of the Star Ranking for male actors in the fifth week of May, securing a total of 182,051 votes.
Following him, Lee Jun Ho placed second with 63,618 votes, and Byun Woo Seok came in third with 17,117 votes.
Meanwhile, controversy continues to surround Kim Soo Hyun. The bereaved family of the late Kim Sae Ron recently claimed she had dated Kim Soo Hyun for six years, starting in 2015 when she was still a minor. They submitted alleged evidence, including photos, messages, and letters, to Garo Sero Research Institute (Hoverlab), a controversial YouTube channel.
The late actress was involved in a DUI accident that led to a 700 million KRW (~510,000 USD) penalty fee dispute with Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist. Both sides are currently embroiled in a public battle over the truth.
In March, Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference denying the allegations, stating, “I did not date her while she was a minor. The claim that my rejection or my agency's pressure over debt led to her tragic decision is also completely false,” he said tearfully. He has filed civil and criminal lawsuits against the bereaved family and Hoverlab’s CEO, Kim Sae Ui, seeking damages worth 12 billion KRW (~8.7 million USD).
Star Ranking is a fan-voting platform where fans vote for their favorite stars, determining their weekly ranks. Fans voting via mobile receive digital voting certificates, and the highest-ranked stars receive various benefits depending on their placement.
Any star who ranks No. 1 for four consecutive weeks will be featured in an outdoor LED billboard ad, and fans may also submit proposals for additional fan support video ads.
