ENHYPEN has swept major music charts in Japan with their sixth mini album ‘DESIRE : UNLEASH’, showcasing their strong album power once again.
According to Oricon Japan’s latest chart released on June 7, ENHYPEN’s new album, which was released locally on June 6, sold 275,344 copies on its first day, debuting at number one on the Oricon Daily Album Ranking.
This achievement marks the twelfth consecutive time ENHYPEN has topped the Oricon Daily Album Ranking upon release, with all of their albums launched in Korea and Japan securing the top spot.
What makes this feat even more impressive is that the first-day sales of ‘DESIRE : UNLEASH’ are the highest among all of ENHYPEN’s albums to date—about twice as much as the opening-day sales of their previous release, the second studio album repackage ‘ROMANCE : UNTOLD – daydream’. This highlights their growing influence in Japan.
The album also soared to the top of Japan’s iTunes Top Albums and Apple Music Top Albums charts immediately after its release.
The title track ‘Bad Desire (With or Without You)’ is also receiving an enthusiastic response. It claimed the number one spot on the Realtime Rising Music Top 100 chart on Japanese streaming platform AWA, entered the top 10 on Oricon’s Daily Digital Single Ranking for June 6, and reached number six on LINE MUSIC Japan’s Music Video Top 100.
Global attention is mounting as well. ‘DESIRE : UNLEASH’ sold over 1.95 million copies within just three days of release, signaling that ENHYPEN is on track to achieve their third double million-seller. Overseas media outlets have also praised the album, with Dazed UK describing it as “an impressively cohesive album,” and Billboard Philippines noting that “ENHYPEN continues to challenge artistic boundaries.”
