Actor Choo Young Woo is making a triumphant return to the popular tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block' six years after his first brief appearance as a student.
According to Sports Chosun, Choo Young Woo will join the filming of the show on the 4th, where he is expected to candidly share stories about his acting journey and the secret behind his recent surge in popularity alongside hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho.
This appearance is more than just another variety show guest spot because it marks a meaningful homecoming. Back in 2019, before his official debut, Choo Young Woo appeared briefly on 'You Quiz on the Block' as a student at the Korea National University of Arts’ acting department.
Even then, his handsome and distinct features paired with his clear and confident manner of speaking caught viewers’ attention. After debuting as an actor, clips from that early appearance resurfaced among fans, sparking renewed interest.
Yoo Jae Suk himself mentioned Choo Young Woo on the show this March. He said, “Although I haven’t met him in person, I’m happy to see someone who appeared briefly on 'You Quiz' doing so well.” Jo Se Ho nodded in agreement and added, “I knew he’d make it.”
Reports also suggest that requests for Choo Young Woo to appear on the show have poured in since his debut. Now, returning after six years, viewers are eager to see what fresh stories and charm he will bring.
Born in 1999, Choo Young Woo debuted in 2021 with the web drama 'You Make Me Dance' and has since built his acting resume with notable roles in 'Police University,' 'School 2021,' 'Once Upon a Small Town,' and 'Oasis.' Early this year, he rose to prominence with hit dramas 'The Tale of Lady Ok' and 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call,' establishing himself as a leading actor. He has also earned critical acclaim and awards at prestigious ceremonies such as the 'KBS Drama Awards' and the '61st Baeksang Arts Awards.'
Fans can look forward to seeing Choo Young Woo in his upcoming dramas 'Head Over Heels' and 'Mercy for None' premiering this June.
