Singer JeA is closing her six-year chapter of life in Jeju Island and beginning a new one in Seoul.

On June 24, JeA shared a personal update through her official social media, announcing her return to the city.

I’m about to wrap up six years of living in Jeju. What started as a three-member household is now four, and we’re moving back to Seoul,” she wrote. “It all began with a one-month trial stay through the JTBC show 'Solo Living App'. My dogs Bandal and Mongsil and I were so taken with Jeju’s nature that we decided to stay for just one more year… and suddenly, six years passed.”

JeA reflected on her time on the island, saying, “Jeju was a great comfort and place of healing for me. Back in Seoul, my mind was always consumed with work. I never allowed myself to truly rest, so this time felt like a precious gift.”

She also revealed that she welcomed a new dog into her life upon recommendation from Lee Hyori, and spoke candidly about a health scare. “Last year, I suffered a vocal cord injury that became a serious issue. I had to shift my focus entirely to recovery, and during that time, my perspective changed.”

I realized that where I live no longer defines me — my heart has grown enough to feel at peace anywhere,” she continued. JeA decided to move back to Seoul so she could always be with her dogs. “Now that my voice is almost fully recovered, I can sing again. After eight months of being unable to sing freely, I truly realized how grateful I am for my voice. I want to sing more than ever.”

She added, “I’m currently working on new music, and with my energy recharged, I’m really looking forward to life in Seoul with my little ones. I hope you’ll continue to support me.”

JeA is the leader and main vocalist of Brown Eyed Girls, known for her distinctive tone and strong vocals. She signed with AURA Entertainment last year and has since released songs like “Why Didn’t I Know Back Then” and “I Don’t Want to Say I’m Lonely,” continuing to share her unique musical identity.
