According to an exclusive media outlet report on June 6 KST, The Black Label, led by BLACKPINK's producer Teddy, is preparing to launch its own co-ed music group.
While co-ed groups witnessed a small boom during K-Pop's 1st generation between the 1990s through the early 2000s, no other co-ed group has made a significant mark on the K-Pop scene after the 2010s besides the hit group KARD, launched by DSP Media in 2017. Now, Teddy and his crew is getting ready to bring back the days of co-ed groups with a special new project.
Meanwhile, The Black Label is currently home to Taeyang of Big Bang, Rosé of BLACKPINK (for Korean promotions), Jeon So Mi, and MEOVV.
[UPDATE] A representative of The Black Label has confirmed, "It's true that The Black Label is preparing to debut a co-ed group soon. More specific details will be revealed at a later time."
