Park Bo Gum recently talked about the challenges he faced while filming his upcoming drama and also about the "new face" he will show through the series.
On May 29, JTBC's new weekend drama 'Good Boy' held the production press conference at The Link Seoul, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul. Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, Tae Won Seok, and director Shim Na Yeon attended the event.
Park Bo Gum's filming challenges
During the press conference, Park Bo Gum opened up about his reasons for choosing 'Good Boy.' He said, "The plot progression was fast, and it felt like reading a comic book when I read the script." He added, "The police character has keen athletic abilities. So, he felt dependable, and the way he fights for justice and raises his voice in the world seemed admirable to me."
Park Bo Gum also confessed that this drama genre itself was a new challenge to him. He explained, "The action, comedy, and investigative aspects that I hadn’t shown before mark a new beginning for me. I think these sides of me might come across as something fresh."
He added, “All of the actors here learned new sports disciplines for this project, so we’ll not only be showing action and sports scenes that haven’t been seen in other dramas, but also transformations into completely new characters. I think it was a new beginning and a challenge for all of us, not just for me.”
Premiere of 'Good Boy'
JTBC’s new weekend drama 'Good Boy' is a youth crime comedy-action series about athletes who become police officers through special recruitment. They wear police IDs around their necks instead of medals as they fight against a corrupt world full of dishonesty and rule-breaking. It premieres on the 31st at 10:40 PM.
