TW: Violent Assault

Musical actor Jeon Ho Jun has been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and has denied the allegations through a lengthy statement and an audio recording as evidence.

The controversy has escalated into a dispute over the truth. On May 24, his ex-girlfriend, 'A,' claimed she was a victim of dating violence. She alleged that she had paid for all of their dates and that Jeon had extorted approximately 10 million KRW from her under the pretense of marriage.

She also claimed she had provided 1 million KRW in cash each month to cover his Pilates expenses and that he had transmitted herpes to her, giving her an STD. 'A' stated that she was assaulted on May 23 when she visited Jeon Ho Jun's home, further fueling the controversy.

Shortly after her allegations surfaced, Jeon Ho Jun responded by posting a photo of himself covered in blood along with an audio recording on his personal account in an effort to refute the claims.

He wrote, "This is actual audio from the incident around 5 a.m. on Saturday, 2025. 05. 24 (*related to 'A’s assault claims)," and shared a transcript. Based on the audio, 'A' had come to his home, which led Jeon Ho Jun to ask, "Why are you here?"  He then continued speaking and said, "Don’t come" and "Don’t hit me."

'A' then screamed, "Help me," while Jeon stated he would call the police. Her screams could also be heard in the background.

Along with the audio, Jeon Ho Jun posted a long message explaining why he felt compelled to release the recording and the photo of himself bleeding.

He stated, "The assault that 'A' is claiming occurred while I was trying to stop her from forcibly entering my home in the early morning hours. Initially, I tried to calm the situation, but physical confrontation became unavoidable, leading to a struggle. I sustained injuries to my face and head that caused bleeding. The photo is just a small portion of the evidence that police reviewed and photographed at the scene."

He added, "I acknowledge the difference in our physical builds. However, the physical confrontation occurred while attempting to prevent an unlawful intrusion into my home during the night, and my actions were an act of self-defense."

Meanwhile, 'A' claimed that upon arriving at his home, he immediately attacked her—choking her, slamming her to the ground, kneeling on her chest, and hitting her face. She stated that she struck him in self-defense, which caused his injuries.

As both sides continue to claim the other was the aggressor and that their own actions were self-defense, the situation has become a contentious dispute over the truth.

This is musical actor Jeon Ho Jun.

On the 24th (Saturday) at around 4:40 a.m., an incident occurred. Not even a full day had passed before A posted a one-sided claim on social media, which then spread through the media, leading to my personal life being indiscriminately exposed. I am deeply fearful of the situation in which claims that have not been fact-checked are spreading without any filtering.

The released recording includes parts that may be misunderstood as profanity on my part, but those, too, occurred within the context of the situation at the time. The reason I released the audio and photo yesterday without detailed explanation was because I hoped people would consider the full context of the situation, rather than making judgments based only on some of the claims uploaded to social media.

The assault situation that A claims happened arose while I was trying to prevent A from unlawfully entering my home in the early morning. At first, I tried to de-escalate the situation, but physical conflict became inevitable, leading to a struggle in which I, too, sustained injuries resulting in bleeding on my face and head. The photo I posted is only a very small portion of the evidence that the police directly confirmed and documented at the scene.

My relationship with A is a private matter between the two of us. I have no desire to publicly disclose every detail, nor do I intend to do so going forward. However, as false claims continued to spread and misunderstandings rapidly escalated in just a single day, I felt I could not simply stand by. That is why I have chosen to share my position and release some materials within the necessary scope.

I am also aware of the physical difference between myself and the other party. However, this situation involved unavoidable physical conflict while trying to stop someone from unlawfully entering my home in the middle of the night, and my actions were a form of self-defense. The injury photos shared by the other party on social media alone cannot fully convey the urgency and context of the situation. 

Likewise, the recording I released contains only audio, and I believe it is insufficient to fully convey the sequence and nuance of what actually happened. Nevertheless, I included parts of the recording that could be interpreted unfavorably toward me because I wanted the situation to be assessed without distortion.

In the flood of articles and the endless messages that have poured in within just a day, this incident has brought me significant psychological distress and pain. However, if distorted claims and false information continue to spread, I must make it clear that I will be forced to respond firmly in order to protect both my work as an actor and the people around me.

To those who are watching and concerned, I sincerely apologize for the distress this has caused.
I hope what I’ve shared today will help clear up at least some of the misunderstandings.
