Late actress Kim Sae Ron’s final film, 'Guitar Man, 'will be publicly screened for the first time on May 21st KST, approximately three months after her passing.
A press screening for Guitar Man is being held this morning at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Although Kim Sae Ron’s family was invited to the event, her mother is reportedly unable to attend due to health issues.
Some speculate that the recent spotlight on the alleged underage relationship between Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun may have contributed to psychological strain on her family members.
'Guitar Man' is a music drama that follows the story of a genius guitarist navigating loss and love while searching for hope through music despite a harsh reality. The film was planned, directed, produced, and headlined by singer and filmmaker Lee Sun Jung.
In the film, Lee plays Ki Chul, a gifted guitarist living a drifting life due to financial hardship. He joins a live club band called Volcano as their guitarist through a friend’s recommendation and meets keyboardist Yoo Jin, played by Kim Sae Ron. Together with the band, they embark on a journey in search of light and hope in the world.
Following today’s press screening and a special Q&A session with the audience, 'Guitar Man' is scheduled for official release on May 30th.
