K-pop girl group ILLIT is set to make their highly anticipated comeback next month. On May 19, their agency BELIFT LAB announced via global fan platform Weverse that the group will release their third mini album, titled BOMB, on June 16.
The upcoming album "BOMB" continues ILLIT’s unique storytelling by exploring how the group expands their world through their relationship with “you.” Following their debut album "SUPERREAL ME", which focused on discovering their true selves, and their second album "I’LL LIKE YOU", which expressed budding affection, "BOMB" kicks off a deeper narrative centered on connection and growth. Fans are eager to see how ILLIT—celebrated for their quirky, confident charm—will showcase new facets of their artistry.
ILLIT made a groundbreaking debut last year. Their debut track “Magnetic” became the first K-pop debut song to enter both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100, achieving the feat in record time. The song also topped several global music charts.
Building on the momentum of "Magnetic", the title track of their second mini album, “Cherish (My Love)”, also received strong support from fans. The group has since won 13 music awards, including 7 Rookie of the Year honors at major ceremonies in Korea, the U.S., and Japan.
Their momentum has continued into 2025. In February, ILLIT released “Almond Chocolate” as the theme song for a Japanese film. Gaining traction through word of mouth, the track experienced a chart resurgence in Japan and ranked #10 on Oricon’s Weekly Streaming Ranking (March 31–April 6)—the highest position for a K-pop girl group song released in Japan this year.
In addition to their album comeback, ILLIT is preparing for their first fan concert, '2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN SEOUL', which will be held June 7–8 at Olympic Hall in Seoul’s Olympic Park. Both dates sold out during pre-sale, reflecting the group's skyrocketing popularity.
Meanwhile, pre-orders for BOMB began today (May 19) at 11 AM KST.
