A former company director 'A', accused of molesting the members of idol group OMEGA X, has been forwarded to prosecution as of May 7 KST, according to media outlet reports.
Previously, 7 members of OMEGA X filed a lawsuit against 'A', a former director of SPIRE Entertainment, for molestation in August of 2023. The members claimed that during their Latin American tour in September of 2022, 'A' forcibly linked her arm with the group members or embrace them while intoxicated. Another member further claimed that 'A' had touched his thigh inappropriately during a meeting in July of the same year.
After an investigation, the police determined 'A' guilty of molestation at the workplace, forwarding her case to prosecution. While acknowledging that 'A' molested 6 members of OMEGA X, the police investigation dropped the lawsuit filed by the 7th member, Hwichan.
'A' is also facing trial for an assault case involving OMEGA X member Jaehan. In 2023, the idol accused 'A' of pulling on his hood until he was thrown onto the ground at a hotel lobby in October of 2022. Initially, the prosecution sided with Jaehan, ordering 'A' to pay a fine of 500,000 KRW. However, 'A' refused and demanded a formal trial, which is scheduled to begin in July.
Meanwhile, following a series of assault, verbal abuse, and molestation lawsuits in 2023, OMEGA X left SPIRE Entertainment in 2023 to join their new agency IPQ.
