On the May 16 episode of KBS 2TV's 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant,' actress Ha Young makes her first appearance as the newest chef on the show.
Her debut received enthusiastic praise from both the production team and chef Lee Yeon Bok, who described her as a valuable addition to the lineup. Expectations for her performance on the program are already running high.
The episode begins with a look inside Ha Young’s one-room apartment, where she recently began living on her own. The space is filled with eye-catching and stylish paintings, which turned out to be her artwork. “I’ve been studying art since I was a child,” she explained. “I attended art-focused middle and high schools and later graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in Western painting.”
Ha Young devoted over ten years to studying fine art. After completing her undergraduate studies, she continued her education at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, which is considered one of the city’s top three art institutions. When asked why she chose to switch from art to acting, Ha Young shared a personal turning point.
“While I was attending SVA, I happened to take an acting class. The experience was so intense and moving that I made an immediate decision. I just knew I wanted to act and didn’t hesitate.” Within two years of making the switch, she debuted as an actress. Thanks to her dedication, she has now grown into a lead actress in just six years.

Earlier this year, Ha Young gained attention for her role as nurse Chun Jang Mi in the drama 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.' Her detailed and vivid performance was well received by audiences. During the show, host Boom brought up her background, mentioning that her father and sister are doctors and her mother was previously a nurse. He asked if she had received any advice for her role.
Ha Young responded by saying that she had worked part-time at the hospital where her parents worked. Observing the environment and the people there helped her understand the setting and contributed to her performance in subtle but meaningful ways.
In addition to acting and painting, Ha Young also impressed viewers with her cooking skills. She prepared her favorite dish, ramen, using her own creative recipes. She also made kimchi and shared some of her personal tips. With her bright energy and cheerful personality, Ha Young created a warm and happy atmosphere on set.
Her first appearance as a guest chef will be broadcast on Friday, May 16 at 8:30 p.m. on KBS 2TV's 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant.'
