The latest buzz on popular Korean online communities is about a recent "rude" comment said to Red Velvet's Wendy.

On April 16, Jung Hyung Don and popular math lecturer Chung Seung Je appeared as special guests on Wendy's radio show 'Wendy's Young Street.'

Chung Seung Je is known as one of the popular online math lecturers at EBSi and ETOOS Academy. He gained popularity for his lessons and transitioned into broadcasting. He made his singing debut on 'Mr. Trot' in 2020 but was eliminated in the first round. He is currently instructing as an online lecturer and runs a YouTube channel.

During the show, Chung Seung Je made a comment about Wendy that has sparked a heated debate online about whether it was rude.

The conversation began when Jung Hyung Don asked Wendy how long she's been hosting the radio show, to which she replied, "I did it for two years, then took a break, and now I'm doing it again for about half a year." Jung Hyung Don continued the topic and asked, "Why?" Wendy explained, "I was doing musicals, but I really wanted to do radio again, too."

That is when the math lecturer Chung Seung Je cut in and commented, "Sounds like the musical gigs didn't go too well," prompting laughter from Jung Hyung Don.

Chung Seung Je's comment has quickly gained traction online with Korean netizens gathering in various forums to discuss this. One netizen shared this conversation and asked other users to vote. The netizen asked others to press the "thumbs up" button if the comment was rude or press the "thumbs down" button if it was just an innocent joke.

The post received over 200,000 views, with 636 users voting the comment as rude. Most of the Korean netizens found this remark rude and commented:

"Then he should just be instructing Math, why is he on broadcast?"
"You know if that comment was rude or not based on what people would say if Wendy said the same kind of comment. Wendy must've been so nice to him for him to say something like that when it's their first time meeting."
"Chung Seung Je got criticized after he began appearing on broadcasts, and Hyun Woo Jin got criticized because of his social media. These lecturers need to keep their mouths shut."
"I was wondering why he kept on appearing on broadcasts...Teach, I guess your lecturing gigs didn't go too well."
"If they were close acquaintances, then it wouldn't be too rude, but this was the first time they met. So it's rude to say that."
"I like Chung Seung Je's Mukbangs and shorts. But I consider this rude. If this comment was made between close people, then you can laugh it off, but are Chung Seung Je and Wendy close?"
"It wasn't even funny. Just sounds like he's full of himself making those 'Jokes'."
"It was a rude comment. The comment wasn't even positive. Not sure with what his intention was."
"He's only able to say that because she's a woman who they think is of a lower status. He wouldn't dare to say that to a man of higher status."
"I mean, if you get offended by his remark, it means it's true. So fans shouldn't take it too personally."
"This was very rude. You can say the same thing about him appearing on broadcasts. Did he appear because his lecture gig wasn't going too well?"
