Rei of IVE shared a candid look into her diet during promotional activities, revealing the challenges of balancing nutrition with a demanding idol schedule.
In a recent episode of ‘TtarehaebolRei’ on the YouTube channel ‘TtarehaebolRei by Seopssisibdo’, Rei gave fans insight into her eating habits. She explained, “In the past, I tried many different diet methods by cutting down on food, but I’ve learned that eating a moderate amount suits me best. Even during promotions, I don’t follow a strict diet—I just eat in moderation.”
Her daily routine starts with half an apple for breakfast, often eaten in the car due to a busy schedule. For lunch on the first day, she chose nasi goreng, emphasizing the importance of eating slowly and mindfully. Rei also mentioned that she carefully checks detailed photos and reviews before ordering food to ensure quality.
During promotions, Rei typically follows a one-meal-a-day routine. She noted, “When preparing for a comeback, I try to have long fasting periods. I enjoy my one meal a day, but I avoid spicy food and late-night snacks to prevent bloating. If I get too hungry, I eat some fruit at night.”
On the second day, she had curry omurice with custom toppings. By the third day, her meals were a pack of strawberries for lunch and shrimp tteokbokki pasta for dinner. However, the limited portions left her craving more, leading her to wake up at night for a cream bread and tangerine snack. On the fourth day, she ate two slices of acorn jelly kimbap with tomato juice, looking forward to indulging in spicy food after her schedule ended.
As fatigue set in on her final day of music show promotions, Rei found herself losing her appetite, ultimately settling for a single slice of pizza and strawberry juice. Wrapping up the video, she reflected, “This week’s meal plan truly reflects the reality of an idol’s diet during promotions.”
Meanwhile, Rei continues to entertain fans through ‘TtarehaebolRei’, released every Thursday at 7 p.m. on YouTube. IVE is set to hold their third fan concert, ‘IVE SCOUT,’ on April 5 and 6 at KSPO Dome in Seoul, with all seats sold out.
