On March 28, former Momoland member Daisy made shocking revelations about the K-pop industry, specifically regarding idols undergoing plastic surgery during breaks.
Speaking on her personal channel on March 22, Daisy shared her experiences from her time as an idol. She claimed that many idols take advantage of hiatus periods caused by injuries or other reasons to undergo plastic surgery. Additionally, she disclosed that in some cases, staff members sign documents on behalf of idols instead of the idols themselves.
Daisy also shed light on-stage performances, alleging that pre-recorded AR audio (Augmented Reality audio) soundtracks are often used during high-energy performances to create the illusion of live singing. As Daisy's statements spread online, fans expressed mixed reactions. Some acknowledged the reality of her claims, calling them "shocking but realistic," while others criticized her for potentially harming fellow idols by revealing such information.
Daisy was previously involved in a dating controversy in 2019 with iKON member Song Yun Hyeong. At the time, MOMOLAND’s agency, MLD Entertainment, confirmed their relationship, whereas YG Entertainment, Song’s agency, denied it, creating confusion. Daisy later claimed that this controversy contributed to her departure from MOMOLAND.
She insisted that her exit from the group was not voluntary but rather a forced dismissal, alleging that she was never informed in advance. In contrast, MLD Entertainment stated that her hiatus was due to health and personal reasons. Daisy countered this by stating that she had intended to return but was never given the opportunity.
Another significant claim made by Daisy was that the 70 million KRW (approximately $47,652) production cost of Mnet’s audition program 'Finding MOMOLAND' was included in her financial settlement, despite her never consenting to this arrangement. MLD Entertainment responded by asserting that all contracts had been lawfully agreed upon with parental consent.
Currently, Daisy remains active through her personal channel, engaging with fans and continuing her career independently.
