On February 26, IST Entertainment officially announced that it has mutually terminated its exclusive contract with the K-pop group Weeekly, effectively marking the end of the group’s five-year journey since their debut.

In a statement, IST Entertainment explained that after lengthy discussions about future activities, both the agency and Weeekly agreed to part ways. The decision comes as the group, which debuted in 2020 with hit tracks like 'After School' and 'Good Day,' had already undergone significant changes—most notably, the departure of member Ji Yoon in 2022 due to health issues.

Group leader Su Jin expressed deep emotions regarding the sudden development via the fan platform Weverse. “I was very surprised and my heart was filled with mixed emotions. I feel so sorry for Daily,” she shared, referring to the loyal fanbase. Su Jin also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support the group received from fans throughout their debut, despite the inevitable challenges and shortcomings they faced.

Weeekly’s disbandment marks the conclusion of a remarkable five-year chapter that saw them win numerous rookie awards and capture the hearts of fans worldwide. As the members now prepare to pursue individual paths, both fans and industry insiders are left reflecting on the legacy of a group that once shone brightly on the K-pop stage.
