On February 22 KST, INFINITE Company relayed unfortunate news of the passing of Kim Sunggyu's older sister.
The agency stated,
"Hello, this is INFINITE Company.
We relay to you the most heartbreaking of news.
Kim Sunggyu's older sister passed away this afternoon (February 22) while fighting an illness.
Per the wishes of the family, the wake and funeral will be held privately with only family and acquaintances.
Please send Kim Sunggyu and his family your condolences with respect so that they may mourn in peace.
INFINITE Company also expresses our deep condolences for the deceased, and we pray that they may rest in peace."
Kim Sunggyu's label BILLIONS, which oversees the artist's solo activities, also confirmed the above news through an official statement.
Earlier on February 22 KST, INFINITE Company announced that Kim Sunggyu would not be performing at the Kuala Lumpur stop of INFINITE's 15th anniversary concert, 'Limited Edition', scheduled to take place later this evening at 8 PM local time.
